SpellingKids exists to give every student — regardless of school resources or budget — access to the most effective spelling bee preparation method known to cognitive science. Through spaced repetition, 15 minutes of daily practice with SpellingKids delivers better retention than hours of traditional list-based study.
Born from a Parent's Frustration
SpellingKids was created by a parent who watched their child spend 4–6 hours per day reading through word lists, only to forget most of them by competition week. The existing tools were either ineffective flashcard apps or expensive tutoring services that most families couldn't afford.
After researching the science of memory and learning, we built SpellingKids around spaced repetition — the same technique used by medical students, language learners, and memory champions worldwide. The result: students master more words in 15–30 minutes per day than they ever could by cramming.
Since launch, SpellingKids has helped thousands of students across Levels 1–8 prepare more effectively, reduce study burnout, and walk into competition day with genuine confidence.
